44 Farms, located in Cameron, Texas, is known for their exceptional Angus cattle breeding and branded beef program. Ranchers seek them out for their exceptional genetics, while chefs from coast to coast proudly call their steaks out by name on their restaurant menus.
We were tasked with developing a system of packaging that would stand out and differentiate them on the shelf with a look that’s natural, sophisticated and distinctly Texan.
Starting with their jerky, we used the 44 Farms mark as a product window to maximize the size of the logo while giving it a dual purpose. The ribbons on each bag change color to help denote flavors and a photograph of the ranch was used to show just how good these bulls have it.
From there, we designed a label for their pecan oil, using the ribbon to highlight their tagline as well as accentuate the elegance of the bottle.
And finally, we created a package for their gift cards that conveyed the premium nature of the product with foil stamps and belly bands, while actual cotton was used to secure the card in the box.
44 Farms is the largest producer of black Angus beef in Texas. The McClaren name is a familiar one in cattle circles, where 44 Farms genetics are considered to be some of the best in the black Angus breed. The seedstock operation, which dates back to 1909, is based in Cameron, Texas.
