To commemorate San Antonio’s 300th anniversary, Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling released a special-edition beer paying homage to the city’s rich history.
The can artwork was designed in the style of papel picado – the Mexican folk art of paper cut into elaborate designs – and peppered with elements of San Antonio lore and history, such as canons and the mission bell from the Alamo, fighter jets from Lackland AFB, and other local and regional icons. Custom die-cut posters of the can’s design were also made to help celebrate the release of the beer and given away as gifts to patrons visiting the brewery.

In 2010, the folks at Ranger Creek debuted Texas’ first “brewstillery” – a combined brewery & distillery proudly located in San Antonio. Committed to using local ingredients and nontraditional recipes to craft unique products, one handmade batch at a time, they’d quickly grown into one of the state’s most respected teams of brewers and distillers.
